Your domain name is where your audience's whole on-line experience with you will revolve.  Every product, service and information that will be reflected on your site are bound to be remembered by the name that you will be creating.  Short, meaningful and direct-to-the point names are usually very effective in naming your site.  

.COMs are the most preferred, but you can do no less with other names should your target name is no longer available.  Please note that domains ending in .PH costs a lot higher than the .com, .net, .org, etc. and is required to be registered for 2 years (min).

Web hosting, or domain host is a domain complement.  Your host will contain all the pages that will be created for your site. It will also contain the programming codes, scripts, images, animations, database, e-mail and e-mail traffic that your site will generate.
